Responsibilities
- Define the technical strategy for Coinbase’s native mobile development future.
- Lead AI-assisted migration efforts using agent swarms, automated dual-repository synchronization, and automated feedback loops.
- Architect a paved-road native framework in Swift and Kotlin for iOS and Android development.
- Drive organizational readiness, cross-functional alignment, conflict resolution, and adoption of architectural patterns across teams.
- Mentor L5-L6 engineers, develop technical leadership, recruit engineers, and strengthen the broader mobile engineering community.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in native iOS or Android development using Swift/iOS or Kotlin/Android and strong proficiency in the other platform.
- Experience owning business-impacting outcomes across 2-3 or more teams, including large-scale multi-phase platform migrations or rewrites.
- Deep iOS and Android mobile performance expertise, including cold-start optimization, frame stability, scroll-jank elimination, and device-tier profiling.
- Experience setting architectural standards, defining ownership boundaries, influencing teams outside one’s own, aligning senior leadership, and resolving cross-team blockers.
- Experience designing AI-native engineering workflows involving LLM-driven code generation, agent-based automation, or reusable workflow automation patterns.
- Ability to use generative AI responsibly with human oversight while delivering measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and quality.
