Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable Spring Boot applications.
- Drive architectural decisions and promote clean, modular, maintainable Java code.
- Design and implement solutions using MySQL and MongoDB.
- Define and enforce software architecture practices including layered architecture, domain-driven design, and event-driven design.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Troubleshoot and optimize backend performance, resilience, and security.
- Improve CI/CD automation and deployment processes.
Requirements
- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot, including microservices and REST APIs.
- Proven experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of layered architecture, domain-driven design, and event-driven design.
- Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with test-driven development and Spring Boot testing practices, including JUnit, Mockito, and Testcontainers.
- Experience with messaging systems such as ActiveMQ and Kafka.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Preferred experience with gRPC, GraphQL, GitLab Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS, EC2, S3, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of backend security best practices; experience with ISO 27001:2022 Annex A 8.28 is a plus.
