Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end automation for SOAP and REST APIs, web UI, and integration testing.
- Design and maintain functional, regression, smoke, and reliability test suites using Playwright and SoapUI or ReadyAPI.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with gated builds, parallel execution, artifacts, reports, and quality gates.
- Use AI tools to accelerate test design, failure triage, flaky-test diagnosis, and test stability improvements.
- Debug automation failures involving network calls, flaky selectors, environment drift, test data, timeouts, asynchronous waits, and race conditions.
- Establish quality dashboards and signals covering pass/fail trends, flake rates, feature coverage, and API latency thresholds.
- Promote page objects, fixtures, API clients, mocking, contract testing, test data management, and environment reliability practices.
- Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps, Support, engineering, and product teams to support reliable releases.
- Develop reusable testing frameworks, standards, internal libraries, and CLI tools across the CLA Business Unit.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of experience in software QA or automation focused on API and UI test frameworks.
- Strong hands-on experience testing SOAP and REST APIs, including validation, schemas, authentication, error handling, and idempotency.
- Experience with SoapUI, including properties, data-driven tests, assertions, environment management, and CI execution.
- Proficiency with Playwright for UI and API automation using TypeScript or JavaScript, fixtures, selectors, network mocking, traces, videos, parallelization, tagging, retries, and flake control.
- Experience using AI tools such as copilots, test code generators, and log analyzers to improve testing efficiency and stability.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD test integration using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab, or Jenkins.
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows involving pull requests, code reviews, branching, and tagging.
- Ability to troubleshoot automation failures and improve test stability at scale.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience with secure document delivery, telephony or faxing, SIP, T.38, G.711, Pact, OpenAPI, WSDL, mock servers, k6, JMeter, Grafana, Datadog, Azure Monitor, Docker Compose, Azure, AWS, secrets management, or internal testing libraries and CLI tools.
- Demonstrated ownership of CI-integrated automation at product scale and clear communication of technical risks.
