Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the technical vision, roadmap, and architecture for the Data Platform.
- Drive architectural decisions and technical direction across data, platform, and infrastructure domains.
- Establish engineering standards, best practices, and reusable patterns with Enterprise Architecture partners.
- Improve code quality, testing, observability, reliability, and operational practices.
- Guide teams through complex technical challenges and contribute to planning and risk management.
- Mentor engineers and develop senior technical capabilities.
- Champion AI-assisted development and engineering automation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Senior Data Engineer, or equivalent senior individual contributor.
- Strong background in data platforms, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience shaping technical direction across teams and stakeholders.
- Expertise with technologies such as AWS, Terraform, Kafka/MSK, Airflow, Glue, or Spark.
- Experience building scalable data solutions and working with data lake or lakehouse architectures.
- Knowledge of Iceberg or similar table formats and batch and streaming processing.
- Knowledge of data quality, governance, cataloguing, and observability tools such as Datadog.
- DBT or AI-assisted engineering practices are a plus.
