Responsibilities
- Develop Python and React features for data loading, visualization, retrieval, and natural-language interaction.
- Automate Python and Excel code generation to streamline data access and retrieval.
- Build dataset registration and upload capabilities for sharing curated data through platform tools.
- Create features that let users build and deploy applications through natural-language prompts.
- Develop and support modern web applications and APIs across backend and frontend technologies.
- Collaborate with researchers, analysts, portfolio managers, data scientists, operations users, and other stakeholders.
- Use and critically validate enterprise-authorized AI coding tools for code generation, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Apply secure coding, automated testing, peer review, and responsible AI practices.
- Prototype solutions and contribute to collaborative development within the existing technology stack and infrastructure.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 3 years of applied experience.
- Strong Python experience covering application design, debugging, testing, packaging, dependency management, and deployment.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience developing and supporting modern applications.
- Experience building web applications and APIs with modern frameworks and technologies.
- Frontend development experience, ideally with React and TypeScript.
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and AWS services including S3, ECS, Lambda, and Athena, plus managed database platforms.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and OpenSearch.
- Understanding of source control, CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and agile delivery methods.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to evaluate and refine their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience working directly with end users and stakeholders.
- Azure and/or AWS certifications are preferred.
- Experience integrating AI into applications is advantageous.
