Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and scale robust Java backend applications and data pipelines.
- Lead technical design and architectural discussions for enterprise-grade software solutions.
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes that ingest data from APIs, databases, files, and other sources.
- Design schemas and work with large-scale SQL and NoSQL datastores.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code and conduct code reviews.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to improve performance, cost, and reliability.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate requirements into technical specifications.
- Participate in planning, development, testing, deployment, and broader software development lifecycle activities.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and improve engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on Java.
- Experience designing, developing, and scaling enterprise-grade applications, including solutions built from scratch.
- Proficiency with Java frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate or similar technologies.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, ETL/ELT processes, SQL and NoSQL databases, and messaging queue concepts.
- Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, or HBase.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring an engineering team and delivering software projects successfully.
- Working knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and independent-working skills.
- Preferred experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud; Docker or Kubernetes; CI/CD tools and practices; and automated testing or test-driven development.
