Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
- Architect microservices and distributed systems for high-volume transactions.
- Optimize database queries and overall system performance.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and DevOps specialists.
- Conduct code reviews and provide feedback on code quality and consistency.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex production issues.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
- Participate in system design discussions and technical decision-making.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Document system architecture, design decisions, and technical specifications.
- Test backend systems and changes.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional backend development experience.
- At least two years in a senior engineering or technical leadership role.
- Expert proficiency in one or more of Java, Python, Go, Node.js, or C++.
- Strong experience with relational and non-relational databases, including SQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
- Expertise in microservices architecture and distributed systems design.
- Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Understanding of API design patterns and RESTful principles.
- Proficiency with Git.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating comparable expertise.
- Cloud platform certifications such as AWS, Azure, or GCP are preferred.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ is preferred.
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools is preferred.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code practices is preferred.
- Experience with performance profiling and optimization techniques is preferred.
- Background in agile development methodologies is preferred.
