Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain enterprise AI platforms and services across development, test, and production environments.
- Deploy and support production AI, generative AI, machine learning, copilot, chatbot, agentic, and RAG workloads.
- Operate Azure application hosting, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes Service environments, including scaling, networking, ingress, security policies, and recovery readiness.
- Manage governed model access, provider routing, failover, model versions, entitlements, quotas, rate limits, credentials, token usage, latency, and cost across AI providers.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards, observability, incident response, root cause analysis, and service reliability improvements.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and automate Azure platform provisioning, policy enforcement, environment standardization, drift detection, and controlled infrastructure promotion.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, release controls, rollback processes, model and prompt evaluations, and operational readiness gates.
- Create reusable Terraform modules, pipeline templates, golden paths, self-service capabilities, documentation, and onboarding guidance for engineering teams.
- Implement cloud security and identity controls, including private networking, managed and workload identities, RBAC, secrets, certificates, keys, rotation, privileged access, and least privilege.
- Collaborate with Data & AI, Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, Governance, Cloud, and business teams while supporting production environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related STEM discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in Cloud Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, Platform Operations, SRE, MLOps, or AI Operations.
- Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure enterprise environments, production workloads, AI or machine learning platforms, Kubernetes-based solutions, and containerized workloads.
- Experience owning a shared platform, infrastructure module library, or delivery pipelines consumed by other engineering teams.
- Strong experience with Azure services, Azure AI platforms, application hosting, cloud networking, private endpoints, DNS, NSGs, load balancing, Terraform, CI/CD, Python, Bash or PowerShell, Linux, IAM, secrets, APIs, Git, monitoring, and incident management.
- Working knowledge of generative AI operational components including prompt and model versioning, agents, RAG, vector stores, evaluations, groundedness, and content safety controls.
- Preferred experience with Azure Kubernetes Service operations, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, LiteLLM, Azure API Management, Helm, Kustomize, Argo CD, Flux, Prometheus, Azure Managed Grafana, Terraform CDK, Microsoft Entra ID governance, Azure AI Search, vector databases, and internal developer platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, root cause analysis, communication, documentation, prioritization, stakeholder engagement, and independent ownership skills.
