Responsibilities
- Develop and independently design software solutions that meet customer requirements for performance and availability.
- Partner with engineering product managers and principal software engineers to translate requirements into detailed designs.
- Design and deliver modern, responsive, intuitive front-end user experiences.
- Improve code quality through code reviews and unit, integration, and acceptance testing.
- Optimize, refactor, and reuse code to improve performance, maintainability, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Develop solutions emphasizing scalability, reliability, maintainability, performance, and user experience.
- Tune performance and resolve production availability issues affecting products, services, and dependencies.
- Create and maintain thorough technical documentation for features.
- Use secure programming patterns and identify, fix, and enhance security in existing applications.
- Estimate software development effort, identify dependent teams, and implement solutions for complex requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies.
- Mentor and coach software engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and best-practice sharing.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience developing and implementing commercial software.
- At least 5 years of modern web UI/front-end development experience, including hands-on React expertise.
- At least 5 years of experience creating applications and features in an object-oriented environment such as C# and .NET.
- Experience working with database objects in relational or non-relational databases such as MS SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Elastic, or Cosmos.
- Experience with HTTP and REST architecture.
- Experience with unit, integration, and acceptance testing.
- Experience with version-control systems such as Git, GitHub, or TFS.
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, MIS, or another technology field, or at least four years of equivalent work experience plus a high school diploma or GED.
- Preferred experience includes system integration or global projects and transportation, logistics, or business systems.
- Preferred experience includes cloud-native applications and services using Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Preferred experience includes data streaming and messaging architectures or frameworks such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ESB.
- Preferred qualifications include agile delivery experience, self-motivation, minimal-supervision capability, strong communication and customer focus, and an openness to feedback and learning.
