Responsibilities
- Set technical direction and help shape engineering culture, best practices, and cross-functional partnerships.
- Develop and improve Twitter for Android across all layers of the Android stack.
- Write architecture and design documents, implement and review maintainable code, and ensure high-quality tests and documentation.
- Identify improvements to product UX/UI, code quality, performance, scalability, and reuse.
- Coordinate high-impact projects across multiple teams and deliver against milestones over multiple quarters.
- Mentor and coach technical leads and help other teams diagnose and root-cause incidents.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience developing Android mobile applications with Java and/or Kotlin.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, profiling, optimization, Android SDK frameworks, networking, data persistence, logging, and performance tooling.
- Strong understanding of Android design guidelines, software engineering practices, and user-centric product development.
- Experience building products from scratch and translating product requirements into concrete engineering plans.
- Experience building high-quality, scalable, reusable code consumed by other engineers.
- Track record of staff-level contributions, technical leadership, large-scale operational change, and coordination of high-impact cross-team projects.
- Prior experience as a technical lead or architect and experience mentoring or supporting peers’ technical proposals and designs.
- Preferred: strong design and usability judgment, interest in experimentation and user behavior, and proactive contribution to public forums.
