Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases for business applications and reporting.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions using T-SQL.
- Ensure database performance, integrity, and security.
- Support database backup, restore, and recovery processes.
- Monitor database performance and proactively troubleshoot issues.
- Assist with data migration, ETL processes, and integration between systems.
- Collaborate with software engineers, QA, and DevOps teams to support reliable data flow.
- Maintain database documentation and participate in version control practices.
- Review and validate AI-generated outputs and remain accountable for final deliverables.
- Evaluate AI-assisted work for accuracy, completeness, logic, compliance, and alignment with business requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Strong command of T-SQL, including query writing, joins, indexing, and optimization.
- Solid understanding of database normalization, data modeling, and ER diagrams.
- Knowledge of backup and recovery, database security, and performance tuning.
- Advanced familiarity with SSMS or similar database management tools.
- Hands-on experience with ETL concepts and data integration workflows.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and critical evaluation skills.
- Ability to use AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar while validating and owning the final output.
- Preferred: exposure to Azure SQL or AWS RDS, experience with Power BI or other reporting tools, and understanding of NoSQL databases or data warehousing concepts.
