Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases for business applications and reporting.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
- Ensure database performance, integrity, and security.
- Support database backup, restore, and recovery processes.
- Monitor database performance and proactively troubleshoot issues.
- Assist with data migration, ETL processes, and system integration.
- Collaborate with software engineers, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure reliable data flow.
- Maintain database documentation and participate in version-control practices.
- Review, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for accuracy, completeness, logic, compliance, and business alignment.
- Own the quality and accuracy of final deliverables regardless of AI assistance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least five years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Strong command of T-SQL, including query writing, joins, indexing, and optimization.
- Basic understanding of database normalization, data modeling, and entity-relationship diagrams.
- Knowledge of database backup and recovery, database security, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with SSMS or similar database-management tools.
- Understanding of ETL concepts and exposure to data-integration workflows is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and business skills.
- Ability to use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar tools while independently validating final outputs.
- Ability to translate business objectives into impactful solutions and drive outcomes with minimal task-level direction.
- Preferred exposure to cloud-based databases such as Azure SQL and AWS RDS.
- Preferred experience with Power BI or other reporting tools.
- Preferred understanding of NoSQL databases or data warehousing concepts.
