Responsibilities
- Lead projects related to Exotel’s telephony and VoIP stack throughout their lifecycle.
- Explore, design, develop, test, deploy, and operationalize product features and improvements with a team of engineers.
- Build fault-tolerant, scalable, real-time distributed VoIP systems.
- Analyze and debug operational issues, participate in a rotational on-call roster, and support automation and scripting.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or Communications Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience designing and developing REST-based microservices.
- At least 4 years of programming experience with Golang, Ruby, or C/C++.
- At least 3 years of experience with a major cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with shell and Python scripting, MySQL or Postgres, Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, Kubernetes, Git, and Linux.
- Experience leading project teams delivering critical software solutions and strong knowledge of data structures, multithreading, concurrency, troubleshooting, and analytical problem-solving.
- Preferred experience includes VoIP technologies and protocols such as SIP, SDP, RTP, and RTCP; Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, or OpenSIPS; SIP testing tools; ISDN; WebRTC; Elasticsearch visualization with Grafana or Kibana; Nagios or Prometheus; Android or iOS VoIP clients; and Java or JavaScript.
