Responsibilities

Lead projects related to Exotel’s telephony and VoIP stack throughout their lifecycle.
Explore, design, develop, test, deploy, and operationalize product features and improvements with a team of engineers.
Build fault-tolerant, scalable, real-time distributed VoIP systems.
Analyze and debug operational issues, participate in a rotational on-call roster, and automate operational work through scripting.
Mentor junior engineers and collaborate effectively in an agile team environment.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or Communications Engineering.
Experience leading project teams to deliver critical software solutions.
At least 3 years of experience with a major cloud platform such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
At least 5 years of experience designing and developing REST-based microservices.
At least 4 years of programming experience with Go, Ruby, or C/C++.
Experience with shell and Python scripting, MySQL or PostgreSQL, Linux, data structures, multithreading, and concurrency.
Experience with Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Git.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, written communication, verbal communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills.
Preferred experience with Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, OpenSIPS, SIP testing tools, ISDN, WebRTC, Elasticsearch, Grafana, Kibana, Nagios, Prometheus, Android or iOS VoIP clients, Java, and JavaScript.
Knowledge of VoIP technologies including SIP, SDP, RTP, and RTCP.
