Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend and full-stack features using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and databases.
- Modernize legacy and monolithic Java applications into modular, cloud-ready and microservices-based architectures.
- Design and integrate backend services, RESTful APIs, data models, and API-, file-, and message-based integrations.
- Provide backend APIs and technical support for Angular and React frontend teams.
- Implement high-performance data processing and integration logic for analytical workflows.
- Apply object-oriented design principles, design patterns, and layered or hexagonal architecture.
- Perform technical trade-off analysis and contribute to application and solution architecture decisions.
- Improve code quality through unit testing, mocking frameworks, static code analysis, and adherence to coding standards.
- Perform performance profiling, memory analysis, JVM tuning, and production stability improvements.
- Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, architecture, and global teams through end-to-end product development and Agile delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers.
Requirements
- MCA or a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent.
- 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Java-based software development on global or enterprise projects.
- Strong experience with software design patterns, layered architectures, performance optimization, object-oriented design, and clean coding practices.
- Strong experience with unit testing and mocking frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Hands-on knowledge of performance profiling and memory analysis.
- Experience with microservices architecture, service communication, integration patterns, Hibernate or JPA, and transaction management.
- Experience in product development environments and understanding of product development lifecycles and Lean Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Preferred exposure to event-driven or message-based systems, Azure cloud-native development, shipping/logistics workflows, or scientific data processing.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, cloud platforms, Maven or Gradle, and SonarQube.
- Strong verbal and written communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a continuous improvement mindset.
