Base Salary
$388k - $619k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and operate robust, scalable, highly available distributed systems and infrastructure.
- Improve developer experience, observability, and operational excellence across engineering systems.
- Architect systems for high availability, fault tolerance, and performance.
- Set technical direction, make architectural decisions, and influence cross-functional engineering projects.
- Investigate complex problems and customer pain points and solve them with appropriate technologies.
- Mentor engineers, support career development, and help build technical communities.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and lead incident reviews.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience crafting complex distributed systems.
- Recent proficient experience with Java, C#, or another object-oriented programming language.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles, concurrency, multithreading, performance tuning, and observability.
- Proven experience architecting, building, and operating highly available, fault-tolerant, high-performance distributed systems.
- Experience setting technical direction, making architectural decisions, and influencing partner and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to varied stakeholders and drive conversations and decisions.
- Preferred experience with infrastructure or platform product development, long-term technical strategy, gRPC, GraphQL, Kafka, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Memcached, AWS, library development, dependency-injection frameworks, or Spring Boot.
- Experience or interest in using and evaluating AI-assisted development tools.
