Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs for GTM and growth platforms
- Contribute frontend and other fullstack work when needed
- Provide technical direction, including build-versus-buy recommendations and maintainability trade-off evaluations
- Identify and resolve backend performance, scalability, and reliability issues
- Review other engineers’ code and designs and provide peer feedback
- Mentor junior engineers
- Document system design decisions and backend architecture
Requirements
- Strong track record of owning backend systems in production
- Strong fullstack technical skills with proficiency in Vue, Node, Go, and Ruby
- Deep experience with backend service design, API design, data modeling, and database performance
- Ability to make sound technical trade-offs independently
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with shifting campaign or launch priorities
- Clear written communication skills for architecture proposals and design records
- Experience transferable from adjacent platform, data, or product engineering backgrounds is welcomed
- Experience with marketing, growth, or GTM engineering contexts is preferred
- Experience working in a remote-first or distributed organization is preferred
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction beyond individual work is preferred
- Ability to explain technical trade-offs to engineers and non-technical stakeholders is preferred
