Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable RESTful and event-driven APIs, middleware services, and backend systems.
- Create and manage API products, gateways, proxies, routing, rate limits, quotas, access models, and security policies.
- Publish and maintain Swagger/OpenAPI specifications and support API lifecycle activities from design through retirement.
- Support API consumer onboarding, application registration, subscriptions, credentials, troubleshooting, and API consumption.
- Apply authentication and authorization controls including OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys, scopes, and access controls.
- Monitor API performance, traffic, errors, and consumption trends across lower and production environments.
- Collaborate with provider, consumer, application, and cross-functional teams on API standards, governance, reusable patterns, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
- Build, maintain, and optimize MCP servers.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience building and deploying production-grade RESTful APIs.
- Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, and ASP.NET Web API.
- Strong SQL Server experience covering relational data modeling, complex queries, stored procedures, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on Microsoft Azure experience with Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Azure Key Vault, and monitoring capabilities.
- Proficiency in Golang or Python.
- Experience designing API products and configuring API management platforms, including products, rate limits, quotas, policies, applications, and credentials.
- Experience publishing REST API methods using Swagger/OpenAPI specifications.
- Strong understanding of REST API design, HTTP methods, response codes, headers, payloads, and versioning.
- Familiarity with API onboarding, subscriptions, application registration, credential management, OAuth 2.0, client credentials flow, bearer tokens, JWT validation, scopes, and access control.
- Ability to troubleshoot API connectivity, authorization, routing, payload, database, and policy-execution issues.
- Experience with JSON, YAML, XML, Linux environments, and CI/CD pipelines or API deployment automation.
- Preferred experience includes enterprise API catalogs, developer portals, API marketplaces, identity providers, cloud platforms, observability tools, API governance, integration patterns, lower-level languages, Apigee Hybrid, relational databases, and MCP servers.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Base salary ranges from CAD 90,000 to CAD 117,500 per year, with eligibility for a discretionary annual performance-based bonus.
