Responsibilities
- Develop backend features using Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
- Build frontend applications using React and Redux.
- Develop unit and integration tests using RSpec, Cucumber, and Capybara.
- Create prototypes and proof-of-concepts.
- Participate in recurring team meetings and software development ceremonies.
- Conduct peer code reviews as part of the SDLC and change management processes.
- Partner with Product Management throughout requirements gathering, development, and delivery.
Requirements
- Degree in Software Engineering or a related field.
- At least 6 years of full-stack web application development experience.
- At least 6 years of experience with React and Ruby.
- At least 6 years of HTML and CSS development experience.
- Experience with Python, Elixir, PHP, Laravel, or similar frameworks may compensate for less direct Ruby on Rails experience.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, data modeling, normalization, and object-relational mapping.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, independent-working, and collaborative abilities.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; Portuguese fluency is required for positions based in Portugal.
- Prior experience in finance, accounting, asset and wealth management, hedge funds, or investment banking is valued.
