Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML-powered applications for speech, language, and GenAI use cases.
- Integrate and operationalize speech-to-text, text-to-speech, NLP, and LLM-based models in production backend services.
- Build and maintain Azure cloud-native AI pipelines, including model deployment, scaling, monitoring, and cost optimization.
- Develop voice transcription, real-time speech processing, intent detection, entity extraction, conversational AI, summarization, semantic search, and RAG workflows.
- Fine-tune and adapt models for domain-specific vocabulary, accents, noisy environments, and healthcare contexts.
- Collaborate with backend engineers, product owners, UX teams, and platform teams to deliver end-to-end AI features.
- Make architecture and design trade-off decisions across multiple components and services.
- Drive testing, reliability, observability, security, documentation, design reviews, and architecture discussions for AI systems.
- Participate in customer-facing Voice of Customer discussions and contribute to patents, invention disclosures, or internal intellectual property.
- Mentor junior engineers and improve the team’s AI/ML engineering maturity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–10 years of software engineering experience with significant hands-on work in AI/ML systems.
- Strong Python proficiency and experience building production-grade ML or AI services.
- Strong understanding of machine learning, NLP, modern AI model architectures, and LLMs.
- Experience deploying and operating AI workloads on Microsoft Azure.
- Strong fundamentals in system design, APIs, data pipelines, scalability, and reliability.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, NLP pipelines, RAG architectures, prompt engineering, and model evaluation is preferred.
- Experience integrating or fine-tuning speech models for real-world applications is preferred.
- Familiarity with Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, LangChain, MLflow, PyTorch, and TensorFlow is preferred.
- Experience with Azure services such as Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, Azure Functions, Container Apps, Azure AI Search, and storage, monitoring, and security services is preferred.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and ML lifecycle management is preferred.
- Exposure to AWS or GCP is a plus.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and AI services is preferred; Java-based backend experience is a plus.
- Strong documentation, design review, cross-team collaboration, and Agile development skills are preferred.
