Responsibilities
- Own the technical vision and system architecture for the Identity Graph, including evaluating technology for complex identifiers and relationships.
- Design, implement, and maintain high-performance synchronous read models for real-time risk decisions.
- Build data pipelines supporting real-time dynamic events, periodic batch enrichments, and static reference data across multiple cadences.
- Implement strict privacy boundaries and secure handling of personally identifiable information.
- Partner with product and engineering leadership to set direction, manage expectations, and convert concepts into actionable plans.
- Collaborate across Twilio and Stytch teams to align architecture, integrate platform capabilities, and unblock initiatives.
- Resolve ambiguity, define boundaries, make pragmatic architectural tradeoffs, and help write requirements.
- Establish production quality, resilience, and observability standards for a large-scale distributed graph platform.
- Mentor engineers, share knowledge, pair with teammates, and elevate the team’s technical standards.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing, building, and operating high-scale, mission-critical distributed systems, graph databases, and complex data models.
- Deep hands-on expertise in a production-grade codebase using a modern programming language, including setting coding standards and writing high-quality code.
- Experience serving as a technical anchor, owning system architecture and vision, and leading cross-functional engineering teams through implementation.
- Ability to clarify ambiguous problems, define scope, and turn early concepts into actionable MVPs.
- Strong collaboration and mentorship skills with a record of raising a team’s technical bar.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including managing stakeholder expectations and driving technical alignment across product and engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related industry experience.
- Ability to work a non-standard schedule, including on-call rotation weekend and holiday hours.
- Familiarity with Go, Kubernetes, and DynamoDB, or experience with identity resolution or fraud detection systems is preferred.
- Experience building 0-to-1 foundational platforms or complex data infrastructure is preferred.
- Experience designing high-performance real-time synchronous read models and complex data pipelines is preferred.
