Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java-based enterprise applications using Spring Boot.
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions and high-level designs.
  • Develop integrations with databases, messaging platforms, and third-party systems.
  • Design database schemas, write optimized SQL queries, and improve application performance.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, and API security standards.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and development best practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployment automation and environment management.
  • Work with business analysts, QA teams, product owners, and architects to deliver solutions.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
  • Contribute to scalability, reliability, observability, and maintainability initiatives.
  • Participate in sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and release planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 4–8 years of hands-on experience in Java application development.
  • Strong expertise in Java and extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Security.
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Understanding of object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
  • Experience with containerized application development and deployment.
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, database design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Experience working with GitHub and branching strategies.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks such as JUnit.
  • Knowledge of API documentation standards such as Swagger.
  • Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
  • Experience consuming and integrating external APIs and services.
  • Experience reviewing code and guiding junior developers.
  • Preferred: experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or other messaging platforms; Graylog; event-driven architectures; and JasperReports.
