Responsibilities
- Implement and support improvements that increase efficiency, software quality, and delivery speed.
- Collaborate with Development, QA, IT Operations, Infosec, UCD, and other multidisciplinary teams to apply DevOps best practices.
- Create, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines, particularly with Jenkins.
- Manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform and support containerized environments with Kubernetes and Helm.
- Write Python automation scripts and apply GitOps, proactive monitoring, and continuous-improvement practices.
- Manage database schema changes and monitor systems for reliability and performance.
- Translate business requirements into technical implementations and act as a business subject-matter expert.
- Communicate, negotiate, and influence stakeholders to ensure services operate effectively and team efforts are well prioritized.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of AWS and practical experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, particularly with Jenkins.
- Experience with Python scripting and automation.
- Experience with multiple database ecosystems, architecture, integration, and schema change management such as Liquibase.
- Experience with monitoring tools to support system reliability and performance.
- Understanding of GitOps principles and a mindset focused on automation, proactive monitoring, continuous improvement, and best practices.
- Strong communication, stakeholder-management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Willingness to travel, the right to work in the UK, and the ability to attain UK Security Clearance.
