Base Salary
$137k - $205k/yr
Responsibilities
- Rapidly prototype new capabilities and iterate based on real-world feedback.
- Translate mission needs into systems by converting ambiguous requirements into designs.
- Own problems end-to-end from concept to deployment and integration.
- Design for interoperability by building clean APIs, SDKs, and integration patterns.
- Enable ecosystem integration by connecting distributed sensors with command systems.
- Operate with speed and judgment, balancing quick iteration with long-term maintainability.
- Design for real-world constraints, including intermittent connectivity and reliability requirements.
- Deliver full-stack solutions, including backend services and frontend interfaces.
- Harden and scale systems, turning prototypes into production-ready solutions.
- Support field deployments by working alongside field engineers to debug and deploy solutions.
- Participate in integration events to collaborate with partners and validate systems.
- Close the feedback loop by improving systems based on field usage.
- Elevate engineering practices by contributing to strong design and code quality.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and shipping production-grade software systems.
- Strong foundation in backend development, including services and middleware.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP/REST).
- Experience designing or working with distributed systems.
- Familiarity with AI/ML tooling and applied usage.
- Proficiency in Rust, Python, or C/C++.
- Experience designing and building APIs and service interfaces.
- Ability to rapidly prototype and iterate under tight timelines.
- Experience building for real-world environments, including edge systems.
- Understanding of modular architectures and system reliability.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and observability practices.
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
