Responsibilities
- Own the technical direction, domain sequencing, data modeling, and tenant cutover strategy for the QFloors-to-web ERP migration.
- Design architecture and foundational investments across legacy desktop and modern web systems several months ahead of delivery.
- Drive complex backend projects, APIs, data pipelines, distributed services, and 3D/computer-vision supporting systems to completion while remaining hands-on where needed.
- Lead design discussions, architecture reviews, technical decisions, and engineering standards across both teams and codebases.
- Ensure systems are scalable, observable, resilient, maintainable, and cost-effective during the migration, including management of the Azure footprint.
- Mentor engineers across desktop and web technologies and help develop desktop engineers into web contributors.
- Partner with engineering management, product, and the CTO on roadmaps, technical direction, and cross-functional initiatives.
- Support technical hiring, candidate evaluation, onboarding, and long-term engineering growth strategies.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software development experience building and operating scalable, reliable production systems.
- Experience leading a multi-team migration or re-platforming involving live users and live data from end to end.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, networking, and databases.
- Strong data modeling and relational database skills, including multi-tenant schema design and safe data migration.
- Ability to design distributed services with performance, observability, and fault tolerance in mind.
- Strong architectural judgment and ability to make high-leverage decisions across multiple teams and codebases.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and mentor senior engineers, guide teams through ambiguity, and improve engineering practices.
- Excellent ownership, communication, cross-functional collaboration, autonomy, and execution in a product-driven environment.
- Preferred experience with ERP, accounting, business management, e-commerce, or catalog-management software.
- Preferred experience with Python and Django, Windows application development, Azure infrastructure, or analogous systems.
