Responsibilities
- Own technical decisions and projects within the AI Platform team from design through launch and on-call.
- Design and build gateways, runtimes, and evaluation services that securely scale AI workloads across millions of users and transactions.
- Build identity, quota, routing, caching, and failover controls for attributable and governable AI usage.
- Partner with security, infrastructure, and product engineering teams on guardrails and on-behalf-of identity for agentic workloads.
- Create and monitor system metrics and own monitoring, alerting, runbooks, and operational health.
- Set code review and design standards, advocate for engineering best practices, and contribute through writing and tech talks.
- Use AI tools and agentic workflows in development, design review, and operations.
- Educate, mentor, and grow engineers while driving design, coding, and testing practices.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
- Experience developing highly available distributed systems with technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Production experience building with LLMs, agents, or AI frameworks, including inference APIs, LLM gateways, MCP, tool calling, evaluations, or agent runtimes.
- Understanding of AI usage and the infrastructure required to support AI workloads across disciplines.
- Experience defining technical plans and delivering significant, elegantly designed, extensible system components.
- Ability to make significant changes safely in large codebases using appropriate tools and practices.
- Strong ownership, growth orientation, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
- Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
