Responsibilities
- Define and guide AI/ML technology strategy across cloud, edge, and embedded environments, with emphasis on edge ML, GPUs, and NPUs.
- Establish technical guidelines for building, training, optimizing, and deploying ML models.
- Bridge ML research and product engineering teams and define architectures integrating ML models with traditional audio/video processing, DSPs, and hardware accelerators.
- Partner with engineering, platform, data, and QA teams to integrate and test ML models in shipped products.
- Collaborate with GPU and NPU silicon vendors and platform partners on hardware capabilities, toolchains, roadmaps, and performance gaps.
- Conduct technical investigations, model profiling, inference benchmarking, accuracy-latency analysis, prototypes, and proofs of concept.
- Advise on retraining, pruning, quantization, distillation, operator fusion, hardware-aware optimization, and model porting across frameworks and runtimes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Significant hands-on experience in AI, machine learning, and embedded software engineering.
- Strong software engineering skills, including production-quality coding, version control, testing, build systems, and software delivery pipelines.
- Experience with at least one major AI/ML framework such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, or ONNX.
- Hands-on experience deploying optimized ML models using techniques such as quantization, pruning, distillation, or operator fusion.
- Experience with edge or on-device ML and constraints including latency, power, memory, and thermal limits.
- Familiarity with CPU, GPU, NPU, and DSP architectures and associated toolchains such as Qualcomm Hexagon/QNN, MediaTek APU/NeuroPilot, ARM Ethos, or Apple Neural Engine.
- Experience in audio, video, signal processing, media codecs, or closely related technical domains.
- Preferred qualifications include technical strategy and cross-functional influence, shipping ML models on resource-constrained devices, real-time audio/video inference, Dolby technologies or comparable media standards, generative AI for audio or video, open-source ML contributions, or peer-reviewed research.
