Base Salary
$187k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement data platforms, unified structured and unstructured data models, metadata management services, and data-enabling systems for AI/ML training and inference.
- Design and implement cloud-based distributed architectures and microservice platforms for low-latency real-time streaming and complex event processing.
- Develop applications, data-collection tools, and instrumentation systems for interactive and immersive data-driven experiences.
- Partner with researchers to optimize AI-based imaging and audio algorithms for distributed cloud and edge execution.
- Develop cloud backend solutions and partner on web, Android, and iOS applications connected to those backends.
- Consult on and implement data governance and management policies.
- Collaborate with researchers, business partners, external technology leaders, and academia to move technologies into production.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in computer science or a related field; PhD is a plus.
- At least 5 years of professional experience, including relevant experience building and designing distributed data systems.
- At least 4 years of experience with cloud systems, distributed computing architectures, service design and implementation, container orchestration, and optimization techniques.
- Strong proficiency in Python and an additional language such as C++, Golang, or Rust.
- Expertise in data structures, distributed algorithms, data modeling, and analytics for heterogeneous stream-based data.
- Knowledge of statistics, data science, AI/machine learning, and big data management.
- Experience with real-time messaging and streaming architectures and platforms such as Pub/Sub, Kafka, Storm, Kinesis, Dataflow/Beam, Flink, Spark Streaming, and Spark.
- Experience with AI/ML models, cloud optimization, and software development patterns.
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Bash, UNIX/Linux commands, Git, and JIRA.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of audio/video formats, processing, editing, and streaming is desired.
- Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Databricks, or Spark is a bonus.
