Responsibilities
- Own full-stack features from initial concept through production without handoffs.
- Build and scale core product features using Ruby on Rails across the frontend and backend.
- Shape AWS/GCP cloud infrastructure, deployment tooling, and CI/CD environments.
- Scale generation and media-processing pipelines while balancing throughput, memory efficiency, and cost per asset.
- Architect resilient asynchronous workflows using queues, retries, idempotency, and rate limits.
- Build monitoring, logging, and tracing systems to diagnose bottlenecks and resolve issues.
- Own production operations, including deployment, monitoring, reliability, and incident response.
- Use AI-powered tools and agents throughout development, testing, debugging, and code improvement.
- Apply security practices including least privilege, secrets handling, and dependency hygiene.
Requirements
- Proven track record of shipping web products end-to-end.
- Deep hands-on experience building, scaling, and maintaining Ruby on Rails applications across the full stack.
- Strong experience with asynchronous systems such as queues, retries, rate limits, and webhooks.
- Experience processing high-throughput data or media, including large files and memory-efficiency concerns.
- Experience owning production systems, including cloud environments, deployment, monitoring, incident response, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong interest in AI-assisted and agentic software development and willingness to explore new tools and workflows.
- Solid security instincts focused on least privilege, secrets handling, dependency hygiene, and minimizing operational burden.
- Nice-to-have experience with generative AI orchestration, cloud cost engineering, image or media-heavy applications, AI coding tools, coding agents, agentic engineering workflows, platform migrations, or public work samples.
