Responsibilities
- Design and architect JPMC-VPC control plane, distribution plane, data plane, software gateways, load balancers, and IPAM systems.
- Develop, review, test, debug, and maintain secure, high-quality production software for large-scale networking infrastructure.
- Build scalable and reusable software frameworks using appropriate design patterns and engineering practices.
- Architect and govern AI-enabled engineering workflows with security, resiliency, validation, and responsible AI controls.
- Apply SDLC tools, automation, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and observability platforms to improve engineering outcomes.
- Advise cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders on networking, distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and software-defined networking.
- Collaborate with Red Hat, NVIDIA, and other strategic vendor partners on roadmaps, integrations, and platform evolution.
- Influence technology decisions across business, product, architecture, and technology organizations.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for networking technologies, software-defined infrastructure, and distributed systems.
- Communicate complex technical issues and recommendations to leadership and executives.
- Represent JPMorganChase in open-source communities, industry forums, and strategic technology partnerships.
- Create reusable software capabilities and frameworks that can be leveraged across teams.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience designing and building large-scale networking platforms, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, software-defined networking solutions, or related technologies.
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with advanced applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, deployment, and operational stability.
- Expert proficiency in one or more programming languages, with strong experience in Go, Python, Rust, or C/C++.
- Experience designing and leading AI-enabled engineering practices, including governance, validation, security, and responsible AI controls.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI, engineering risk management, data sensitivity, security, resiliency, and governance.
- Hands-on experience with software-defined networking technologies such as OVN, OVS, or equivalent platforms.
- Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, load balancing, and distributed network architectures.
- Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, automation, and cloud-native development.
- Ability to solve complex technology challenges using advanced engineering techniques and emerging technologies.
- Ability to influence across teams, drive technology outcomes at scale, and present complex recommendations to senior leaders and executives.
- Practical cloud-native experience.
- Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
- Ability to align technology solutions with business objectives.
- Preferred experience with DPU/SmartNIC technologies such as NVIDIA BlueField, AMD Pensando, or Intel IPU.
- Preferred knowledge of eBPF, XDP, DPDK, Kubernetes networking, CNI implementations, Cilium, Calico, Flannel, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, and EVPN.
- Preferred experience operating software-defined networking platforms in enterprise or cloud environments and contributing to open-source networking technologies or industry standards.
