Responsibilities
- Design and develop automation for enterprise network provisioning, configuration management, and lifecycle operations.
- Build Python-based services, APIs, microservices, automation frameworks, and reusable service templates.
- Integrate solutions with network controllers, orchestration platforms, management systems, and software-defined networking technologies.
- Develop automation workflows across routing, switching, and data centre environments.
- Design REST APIs and service integrations for infrastructure self-service and operational automation.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and deployment processes across development, QA, staging, and production.
- Apply Infrastructure as Code principles to improve consistency, repeatability, observability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot complex networking, software, and automation issues and lead peer code reviews.
- Drive architectural decisions, establish engineering standards, mentor engineers, and provide technical leadership for network automation initiatives.
Requirements
- Extensive experience developing network automation solutions in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Strong software engineering background with proven Python development expertise.
- Experience delivering automation platforms for critical production infrastructure.
- Experience across both networking and software engineering disciplines.
- Experience designing, building, and operating scalable API-driven services.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, VLANs, VRFs, routing and switching architectures, and enterprise data centre networking.
- Expert-level experience with Python, Linux, REST APIs, Git-based development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Ansible, Itential, Nautobot, Terraform, network orchestration platforms, and Software Defined Networking.
- Experience with Arista CloudVision (CVP), Cisco ACI, or other software-defined networking technologies.
- Knowledge of Network as Code methodologies, large-scale routing and switching automation, containerised workloads, platform engineering, database technologies, data modelling, ITSM, source control, and observability platforms is beneficial.
- CCIE, JNCIE, Cisco DevNet Professional or Expert, and Arista ACE Level 5+ certifications are highly desirable.
