Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate highly available distributed services for Mastercard authentication products.
- Own feature delivery from technical design through production rollout and operational support.
- Develop APIs, real-time transaction processing components, decisioning services, and platform capabilities.
- Drive solution design, architecture discussions, technical planning, and engineering modernization initiatives.
- Improve observability, automation, reliability, monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and incident response in partnership with SRE teams.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues across multi-tier architectures and distributed systems.
- Collaborate with Data Science and Product teams on fraud and authentication intelligence solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews, testing strategies, secure coding, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Strong professional experience developing production-grade Java applications.
- Experience building and operating distributed, high-throughput, low-latency systems.
- Strong understanding of microservices architectures, API design, software design patterns, and object-oriented design principles.
- Experience with Spring Boot, event-driven architectures, and asynchronous processing.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues using observability and monitoring tools.
- Understanding of secure coding practices, application security principles, cloud-native technologies, and containerized workloads.
- Large-scale data processing or real-time transaction platform experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to independently drive work from concept through production delivery and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions through collaboration.
