Responsibilities
- Define technical direction for Android and mobile-facing systems across teams.
- Lead hands-on design of durable production Android architecture.
- Shape how mobile work is designed, reviewed, tested, shipped, and operated.
- Improve automation, observability, rollout practices, and AI-enabled validation for mobile engineering.
- Define durable mobile-facing system contracts, boundaries, ownership, and operating expectations.
- Create reusable standards and strengthen engineering judgment across teams building native experiences.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in modern production Android architecture and experience setting technical standards beyond one feature team.
- Deep Android expertise with enough iOS fluency to influence architecture decisions involving backend, web, product, identity, reliability, release quality, observability, and native outcomes.
- Experience shaping mobile-facing platform contracts or backend service boundaries across native and adjacent client surfaces.
- Ability to read, debug, and contribute to backend systems when needed to unblock mobile-facing outcomes.
- Experience shaping AI-enabled engineering systems that improve validation, product quality, and delivery confidence across teams.
- Strong reliability and release-quality judgment across production mobile systems and multiple initiatives.
- Track record of improving engineers’ technical judgment through clear standards and reusable patterns.
- Excellent product judgment and communication skills.
- Preferred experience with Android experiences across foldables, wearables, Android Auto, or other native surfaces.
- Preferred experience with enterprise mobile environments involving identity, device management, compliance, security, or MDM/EMM.
- Preferred experience shaping mobile design-system foundations and design-to-code workflows for consistency, accessibility, velocity, and AI-assisted UI generation.
