Responsibilities
- Architect REST and gRPC APIs backed by stable, scalable server-side implementations and asynchronous code.
- Design and build large-scale infrastructure for crawling, ranking, and retrieval systems.
- Develop secure and compliant software for handling sensitive data.
- Write performant, readable, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Improve code quality, reliability, and product velocity while collaborating with peers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- Experience with a strongly typed language such as Rust, C++, or Java.
- At least 4 years of experience building and scaling distributed systems.
- Strong programming skills and general computer science knowledge.
- Track record of shipping high-quality products.
- Preferred experience with protocol buffers and gRPC.
- Preferred experience with MapReduce or other massively distributed parallel computation frameworks.
- Early engineering experience at a hyper-growth startup or experience in a world-class product organization is a bonus.
