Responsibilities
- Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot, implementing business logic, service layers, and data access layers.
- Build and maintain server-side Java applications, including authentication, authorization, third-party integrations, performance optimization, and scalability improvements.
- Develop React web applications and reusable frontend components using responsive, mobile-first design and state-management solutions.
- Design relational database schemas, write complex SQL queries and stored procedures, and optimize database performance.
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and debug issues across browsers, devices, and production environments.
- Partner with analysts and stakeholders across Singapore, Hong Kong, and Dubai to define requirements, test deliverables, support implementation, and resolve user and production issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Technology or equivalent degree in Computer Science.
- Minimum of 6-9 years of hands-on Java development experience in an enterprise environment.
- Strong Java experience including collections, Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring MVC, multithreading, streams, concurrency, JPA, JMS, profiling, and garbage collection.
- Experience building RESTful web services, applying enterprise design patterns, and designing relational databases and SQL solutions.
- Experience developing React applications with Redux or other state-management libraries, React Hooks, functional components, responsive design, testing frameworks, and modern frontend build tools.
- Strong SQL and relational database design experience, including complex queries, joins, indexes, and stored procedures using databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
- Experience with Unix and Bash scripting, system and process monitoring, Git, and GitLab Pipelines; knowledge of CI/CD and agile development processes.
- Preferred experience includes Docker or Podman, Kubernetes, AWS, S3, Kafka or Pulsar, streaming or reactive programming, serialization protocols, Next.js, and GraphQL.
- Banking or capital-markets knowledge, including equity, fixed income, or FX asset classes, is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder-management, and global-team collaboration skills.
