Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Define the architecture, technical strategy, standards, and scaling approach for Databricks’ AI security tooling platform.
- Design and develop production-scale AI threat detection capabilities, including behavioral analysis, prompt injection detection, and anomaly detection for agentic workflows.
- Define methodologies for continuous AI security assessment and lead the development of automated AI red-teaming and adversarial testing platforms.
- Coordinate technical direction and tooling integration across Product Security, SITH, IR, and ConMon teams.
- Represent AI Security Engineering in architecture reviews and cross-team technical discussions.
- Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and improve the quality, reliability, observability, and security of AI security tooling.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of experience in security software engineering, security engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated technical leadership of security tooling programs with organizational-level impact.
- Expert Python engineering experience delivering production systems at scale.
- Deep expertise in AI/ML security, including adversarial ML, prompt injection, model security, and agentic framework trust boundaries.
- Experience designing security tooling architectures spanning multiple teams and systems.
- Strong technical communication skills and a track record of driving cross-team adoption of standards and patterns.
- Track record of shipping high-quality security tooling used by other teams in production.
- Preferred qualifications include research or deep familiarity with adversarial ML, AI safety, or AI red-teaming; experience with MLOps platforms, AI serving infrastructure, or cloud-scale AI platform security; familiarity with NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, or EU AI Act technical provisions; and open-source contributions or publications in AI security or security tooling.
