Responsibilities
- Design and develop the Internet Banking web application for the International Wealth Management business.
- Develop and maintain backend services using Java, Jakarta Servlet, Spring, and related frameworks.
- Migrate legacy libraries to current supported versions, including Jakarta Servlet, Jackson, Apache POI, Log4j2, Hibernate Validator, HikariCP, Freemarker, and Commons FileUpload.
- Build responsive and secure React front-end interfaces to replace legacy jQuery components.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services.
- Ensure application security, performance, and compliance standards for banking systems.
- Collaborate with QA, the Senior Development Lead, business analysts, and the Project Manager on migration and deployment.
- Implement React state management, routing, asynchronous data handling, form validation, accessibility, and testing practices.
Requirements
- University degree in computer science or banking, or equivalent working experience.
- 7–10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in technology.
- Strong experience with Java, Jakarta EE/Servlet API, and the Spring framework.
- Proficiency in React.js and modern JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience with Jackson, Apache POI, Log4j2, Hibernate Validator, HikariCP, and Commons FileUpload.
- Experience with legacy-to-modern framework migrations is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Spring Boot is a plus.
- Knowledge of React fundamentals, Hooks, component lifecycle, rendering optimization, state management, and React Router.
- Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, CSS frameworks or preprocessors, cross-browser compatibility, and WCAG accessibility standards.
- Experience integrating APIs, handling asynchronous data, and implementing forms and validation.
- Experience with npm or yarn, GitHub, Jest, and React Testing Library.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices, XSS/CSRF prevention, JWT or OAuth session and token handling, and financial-institution security review processes.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, communicate across levels, and collaborate effectively.
