Responsibilities
- Design and build high-availability Java/Micronaut services across post-trade and analytics platforms.
- Develop Python and BigQuery data workloads for statements, confirmations, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Deliver transaction-lifecycle systems that serve as institutional clients’ source of truth.
- Meet regulatory reporting commitments and extend coverage for new jurisdictions.
- Own production systems end to end with SLOs, automated CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response.
- Design event schemas and data models emphasizing reconciliation, idempotency, and auditability.
- Translate regulatory and business requirements into production systems with Trading Engineering, Compliance, Risk, and Finance.
- Contribute through code reviews, test-driven development, and mentorship.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production systems in financial services or another high-stakes, regulated environment.
- Strong backend and data-technology fundamentals, with proficiency in Java, Python, or comparable technologies.
- Strong PostgreSQL skills and experience with analytical stores such as BigQuery.
- Experience designing clean schemas and data models.
- Demonstrated delivery of fault-tolerant systems with rigorous testing, observability, and high-availability/disaster-recovery practices.
- Test-driven and agile working style with end-to-end ownership of identifying and fixing problems.
- Ability to use large language models such as Claude and Gemini to accelerate delivery while maintaining engineering standards.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders across global teams.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferred: cloud and DevOps fluency; event-driven architecture and middleware experience; big-data ecosystem and workflow-orchestration familiarity; and front-end experience with React or TypeScript.
