Responsibilities

  • Design scalable automated test frameworks with reusable mocks, simulators, and stubs for development teams.
  • Integrate test management and automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and establish quality gates.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams during design and architecture to define acceptance criteria and improve testability and observability.
  • Build appliance-scale test setups and execute systems, load, performance, and API stress tests.
  • Use telemetry, including logs, metrics, and tracing, to isolate bottlenecks and complex failures.
  • Write production-grade code and participate in reviews of test frameworks and core application code.
  • Champion quality practices, participate in root-cause analyses and bug hunts, and review and approve test strategies.
  • Report on test coverage, defects, customer feedback, and release readiness, and mentor developers on testing approaches.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience as an SDET or QA Automation Engineer, with a basic requirement of at least 3 years in QA testing.
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Python, Java, TypeScript, C#, or C++.
  • Experience building automated testing frameworks from the ground up.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Practical experience using an AI-first approach to software development and testing workflows.
  • Experience with load, performance, and API stress testing tools.
  • Experience testing large-scale public-facing applications or mission-critical distributed systems.
  • Experience with test management tools such as TestRail and familiarity with observability platforms.
  • Experience testing cloud applications using virtualization tools such as Docker.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Benefits

  • Target base salary is $90,000–$110,000 CAD.
  • Hybrid work schedule in the Vancouver, BC office; candidates must reside in the Greater Vancouver area.
  • No travel or relocation is provided.
