Responsibilities
- Design scalable automated test frameworks with reusable mocks, simulators, and stubs for development teams.
- Integrate test management and automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and establish quality gates.
- Partner with engineering and product teams during design and architecture to define acceptance criteria and improve testability and observability.
- Build appliance-scale test setups and execute systems, load, performance, and API stress tests.
- Use telemetry, including logs, metrics, and tracing, to isolate bottlenecks and complex failures.
- Write production-grade code and participate in reviews of test frameworks and core application code.
- Champion quality practices, participate in root-cause analyses and bug hunts, and review and approve test strategies.
- Report on test coverage, defects, customer feedback, and release readiness, and mentor developers on testing approaches.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience as an SDET or QA Automation Engineer, with a basic requirement of at least 3 years in QA testing.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Python, Java, TypeScript, C#, or C++.
- Experience building automated testing frameworks from the ground up.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Practical experience using an AI-first approach to software development and testing workflows.
- Experience with load, performance, and API stress testing tools.
- Experience testing large-scale public-facing applications or mission-critical distributed systems.
- Experience with test management tools such as TestRail and familiarity with observability platforms.
- Experience testing cloud applications using virtualization tools such as Docker.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Benefits
- Target base salary is $90,000–$110,000 CAD.
- Hybrid work schedule in the Vancouver, BC office; candidates must reside in the Greater Vancouver area.
- No travel or relocation is provided.
