Base Salary
$250k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement Linux kernel security enhancements, configuration hardening, access controls, secure boot protections, and CI guardrails.
- Triage CVEs, assess exploitability, research kernel and OS vulnerabilities, and backport non-trivial upstream fixes.
- Audit and harden Cloud Hypervisor device models and vhost-user datapaths while advancing confidential computing primitives.
- Develop and use fuzzing, static analysis, dynamic analysis, and kernel security auditing tools.
- Establish secure coding practices, conduct security-focused C code reviews, and support kernel- and OS-level incident response.
- Balance security improvements with performance requirements for high-performance AI infrastructure.
- Provide technical mentorship and collaborate with hardware, hypervisor, OS, cloud infrastructure, and security operations teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant industry experience, including at least 3 years focused on low-level operating systems or kernel security.
- Deep knowledge of Linux kernel internals and kernel vulnerabilities, exploitation techniques, and security mitigations.
- Experience with secure coding principles and security-focused code reviews, particularly in C.
- Proficiency with kernel debugging and security analysis tools including GDB, crash, kgdb, valgrind, address sanitizers, and fuzzers.
- Familiarity with hardware-assisted security features such as Intel SGX, AMD SEV, and ARM TrustZone.
- Experience with CVE remediation and automation, with the ability to pass a background check.
- Preferred qualifications include open-source kernel security contributions, hypervisor security, HSMs or TPMs, and kernel-level offensive security or penetration testing.
