Responsibilities
- Build and launch Rogo’s first native Android application.
- Define the application architecture, technical stack, engineering patterns, and development standards.
- Establish standards for testing, security, performance, observability, releases, and code quality.
- Partner with product and design to define AI-native mobile workflows and polished user experiences.
- Own major features end-to-end from user research and technical design through launch and iteration.
- Integrate Rogo’s AI platform and backend services into an intuitive native Android experience.
- Create reusable foundations that support application growth and a future Android engineering team.
- Work directly with customers and Customer Success to understand professional workflows and incorporate feedback.
- Help hire and mentor future Android engineers and establish the team’s technical bar.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
- Track record of building and launching high-quality Android applications.
- Strong command of Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and the Android SDK.
- Experience making foundational architecture and technology decisions.
- Deep understanding of Android application architecture, lifecycle management, and platform conventions.
- Experience with Kotlin coroutines, Flow, concurrency, threading, and performance optimization.
- Strong product judgment and an instinct for polished, intuitive user experiences.
- Experience designing reusable, testable components and maintainable application architecture.
- High standards for reliability, security, privacy, and production readiness.
- Comfort operating with ambiguity and turning an open-ended opportunity into a shipped product.
- Passion for building delightful AI-powered experiences.
- Bonus experience includes building an Android app from zero to one, working as an early mobile engineer, and using Java, RxJava, Dagger, Hilt, established Android architecture patterns, backend integrations, offline functionality, local persistence, background processing, push notifications, or enterprise mobile-management environments.
- Interest in AI and its potential to reshape professional mobile workflows.
