Responsibilities

  • Own the architecture and technical roadmap for Dow’s enterprise Databricks-first MLOps framework.
  • Design and enhance workflows for ML development, testing, release, deployment, monitoring, retraining, retirement, governance, and operational support.
  • Build CI/CD, configuration-as-code, infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, quality gates, observability, and deployment patterns for ML workloads.
  • Define and promote software engineering and MLOps standards, reusable reference architectures, templates, libraries, and production-readiness practices.
  • Drive adoption of the MLOps framework through coaching, technical reviews, enablement, office hours, and reusable examples.
  • Deliver production ML solutions, including data analysis, feature engineering, model selection, optimization, validation, packaging, serving, monitoring, and remediation.
  • Design batch, streaming, and real-time inference pipelines and integrate model outputs with enterprise systems through APIs, events, streams, and batch interfaces.
  • Define adoption, quality, reliability, deployment, operational health, and business-value measures and use them for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor practitioners and communicate architecture decisions, tradeoffs, risks, model performance, and business outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, relevant military experience at E5 rank/Petty Officer 2nd Class or higher, or eight years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • At least three years of experience developing and delivering solutions in machine learning, data science, software engineering, data engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL, with experience in one or more machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Spark MLlib, or Ray.
  • Experience architecting or operating enterprise MLOps frameworks, platforms, or shared deployment practices.
  • Hands-on experience deploying ML models and pipelines on Databricks, including MLflow, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workflows or Jobs, model registries, and batch or real-time serving.
  • Experience with Git, automated testing, code review, CI/CD, packaging, infrastructure as code, and Azure DevOps for ML workloads.
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, evaluation, feature engineering, model selection, optimization, explainability, production monitoring, data modeling, lakehouse architecture, data warehousing, ETL/ELT, Apache Spark, and distributed data processing.
  • Experience designing batch, streaming, and real-time inference patterns and integrations through REST APIs, Event Hubs, Kafka, or enterprise batch interfaces.
  • Experience with Azure services including Azure Machine Learning, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Functions, Logic Apps, Azure SQL, or Azure Kubernetes Service.
  • Experience deploying traditional machine learning and generative AI systems into production.
  • Ability to influence technical communities, define standards, facilitate architecture decisions, coach practitioners, lead complex cross-functional work, and communicate with technical and business audiences.
  • Preferred qualifications include a degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related field, plus an advanced degree where applicable.
  • Ability to work legally in the United States.
