Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design scalable distributed systems, platform abstractions, and data models for a multi-tenant invoicing and tax platform.
- Lead architecture decisions and drive engineering execution for billing, tax, and compliance capabilities.
- Partner with Tax Profile, Tax Compliance and KYC, Tax Planning, Marketplace, product, and dependent platform teams on technical integrations.
- Establish team standards for code quality, operational readiness, testing strategy, and scalability patterns.
- Mentor engineers, conduct knowledge sharing and code reviews, and raise the team’s technical bar.
- Own service availability, latency, operational metrics, on-call excellence, and incident response.
- Reduce technical debt by replacing country-specific and tenant-specific implementations with generalized, configurable solutions.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- At least 1 year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- At least 1 year of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, or services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- At least 1 year of object-oriented design experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: 3+ years covering the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
