Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, program, debug, modify, test, and implement system requirements.
  • Understand complex business systems and workflows and explain them to other developers.
  • Gather and understand requirements with business units and stakeholders.
  • Plan and estimate development work for key components, applications, and systems.
  • Develop solutions to business problems using proven technologies.
  • Create and maintain complete functional and non-functional specifications.
  • Transition complex business logic from existing systems to new technologies and systems.
  • Support production systems, work with database administration and systems software, and define system recovery procedures.
  • Identify root causes of program failures and defects and develop solutions.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and QA analysts on business feature, regression, and integration testing.
  • Work in an agile and continuous integration environment using SDLC tools.
  • Plan and execute unit tests to ensure code is free of functional defects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience developing with Java technologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of Java 8+, object-oriented design, design patterns, distributed messaging, JMS, Spring Framework, Hibernate or JPA, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL, and multithreaded server-side development.
  • Experience with unit testing tools including JUnit, Mockito, Spring Boot Test, and Karate.
  • Experience with Java performance tuning, debugging, and memory profiling.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and development workflows using Jenkins, ArgoCD, or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience supporting multiple projects, managing priorities, and multitasking effectively.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, technical documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred experience building HTML5 front ends with ReactJS or similar JavaScript libraries and frameworks.
  • Preferred experience developing microservices on container-based Kubernetes platforms such as OpenShift or Tanzu.
  • Preferred familiarity with BPMN, Camunda, Drools, distributed caching frameworks such as Redis, and test-driven development.
  • Preferred exposure to financial services technologies, particularly futures and options.
  • Preferred demonstrated contributions to open-source technologies and exposure to AI-assisted SDLC workflows.
