Responsibilities
- Integrate third-party providers, SaaS tools, internal systems, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365 into Databricks through APIs, connectors, and authentication flows.
- Build well-modelled, documented, reusable data products consumed through Excel, dashboards, and natural-language querying.
- Design, ship, support, and standardise internal applications and AI-enabled tools for fund management, asset management, and finance teams.
- Prototype, evaluate, and productionise document AI, retrieval, agentic workflows, and other AI capabilities.
- Configure practical access, permissions, workspace, schema, environment, credentialing, and logging guardrails in Databricks and Unity Catalog.
- Implement tagging, budgets, alerting, usage monitoring, and attribution for Databricks and AI-token costs.
- Consolidate ad hoc scripts, spreadsheets, and no-code workflows into maintainable integrations and automate repetitive processes.
- Work directly with non-technical teams to understand problems and translate them into solutions.
Requirements
- Strong experience integrating business systems, SaaS tools, and data sources through REST APIs, connectors, and authentication flows.
- Track record of building and shipping adopted data products or internal applications.
- Daily working proficiency with Python and SQL for building, automation, and data modelling.
- Hands-on production experience with a cloud data platform, preferably Databricks, including workspaces, catalogs, permissions, and compute.
- Practical experience integrating LLM APIs, retrieval, and agents into real tools.
- Experience with SSO, service accounts, credential management, and access lifecycles.
- Experience integrating Microsoft 365 and SharePoint or a comparable enterprise document and collaboration platform.
- Experience controlling and attributing cloud or AI usage costs.
- Strong communication skills and comfort explaining trade-offs to business stakeholders and participating in technical reviews.
- Comfort taking ownership in a small team and establishing working patterns.
- Preferred experience includes full-stack or application development with Streamlit, FastAPI, or HTMX; Databricks, Unity Catalog, Databricks Apps, Lakebase, or Genie; vector search, embeddings, document AI, or retrieval-augmented generation; Terraform or GitHub Actions; FinOps; supporting analysts in shared data environments; and work in regulated industries or relevant energy and financial-services domains.
