Responsibilities
- Develop and own backend features using Python and Django.
- Create backend services and design, build, or troubleshoot integrations with third-party vendors.
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver product features through A/B tests.
- Define customer-focused technical solutions with the team.
- Balance short-term development speed with long-term system quality.
- Guide technical decisions and improve testing, code review, monitoring, and scalability practices.
- Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, mitigate problems, and establish safeguards against recurrence.
- Support the squad’s on-call rotation for one week every five weeks.
- Use AI as a thought partner and help establish quality gates, safety nets, and AI-native engineering alternatives.
Requirements
- Experience with architectural patterns for large-scale web applications, including well-designed APIs, high-volume data pipelines, and efficient algorithms.
- Hands-on experience using agentic AI and applying it beyond code generation while exercising judgment over architecture, business logic, and security.
- Willingness to learn and use Python for product development; prior Python experience is not mandatory.
- Familiarity with and willingness to support small JavaScript or TypeScript tasks when needed.
- Expertise in troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, mitigation, and preventative safeguards.
- High self-organization, ownership, and responsibility.
- Strong collaboration and verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum B2 English proficiency.
- Willingness to participate in the squad on-call rotation.
