Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, integrate, standardize, verify, validate, and deploy AI-driven solutions for clinical practice and healthcare operations.
  • Apply AI/ML techniques including deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and large language models to healthcare data and applications.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, user experience designers, product managers, IT professionals, and external partners to assess feasibility and translate requirements into designs and usability specifications.
  • Engineer systems, tools, and software components that support AI development and deployment, including automated release pipelines.
  • Create, maintain, and follow quality system procedures while addressing design requirements, risk mitigation, regulatory requirements, and safety considerations.
  • Analyze complex healthcare data and communicate findings and technical concepts to technical, clinical, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide training and education to healthcare staff on AI tools and technologies.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, health science, or a related field plus 1 year of experience, or a bachelor's degree plus 3 years of experience.
  • Experience applying AI and machine learning in production environments or similarly regulated or technology-focused industries.
  • Skill with cloud infrastructure environments, software development tools, AI/ML techniques, and frameworks.
  • Experience working with large, complex, heterogeneous datasets, preferably in healthcare.
  • Familiarity with data engineering, data science, AI engineering, and MLOps best practices.
  • Experience collaborating across diverse teams and communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred: a Ph.D. or other doctorate, expertise with deep learning, natural language processing, and Generative AI, and proficiency with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, or Keras.
  • Preferred: knowledge of clinical workflows, electronic health records, medical terminologies, regulatory requirements, industry standards, healthcare informatics standards, and common data models.
  • Preferred: familiarity with systems or quality engineering, regulatory standards, compliance frameworks, user-centered design, human factors engineering, usability testing, and AI product evaluation.
