Responsibilities
- Contribute to the long-term technical vision and architecture for core banking middleware platforms.
- Design, build, and deliver scalable, resilient, secure, and high-performance distributed software systems.
- Provide hands-on coding, design, code review, security review, documentation, and technical problem-solving.
- Mentor senior and junior software engineers and promote engineering standards and continuous learning.
- Apply DevSecOps and Site Reliability Engineering practices to improve availability, performance, security, and operational efficiency.
- Identify technical debt and system risks and implement disaster recovery and resilience capabilities.
- Advise senior business leaders and product owners by translating business requirements into technical designs.
- Explore and apply emerging technologies and architectural patterns to improve products and engineering productivity.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, operations, and technical leads to align solutions and deliver complex software on time.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of progressive backend software development experience, including ownership of complex, large-scale software projects as a senior individual contributor.
- Deep hands-on expertise with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, microservices architecture, GraphQL, and NoSQL databases.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable, resilient, secure, performant, high-volume, and low-latency distributed systems.
- Expert understanding and practical experience with the Software Development Lifecycle, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps, and Site Reliability Engineering practices.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to business and technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field required.
- Master’s degree or equivalent advanced professional qualifications preferred.
- Experience with Apache Flink is a significant advantage.
