Responsibilities
- Own the technical roadmap and architecture for Workforce Management and Pod Fulfilment.
- Lead hands-on technical execution across an 8–10 member engineering team by breaking down goals, delegating work, unblocking engineers, and coordinating dependencies.
- Design and build APIs, data models, services, and production-ready systems from business and operational requirements.
- Review proposals and designs for architecture, scalability, reliability, operability, security, maintainability, and safe delivery.
- Diagnose production issues using metrics, logs, and traces, lead root-cause fixes, and improve observability and operational readiness.
- Partner with Product, Operations, Data, and other Engineering teams to align on constraints and technical trade-offs.
- Coach engineers and improve design, code quality, documentation, and engineering practices.
Requirements
- B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 6–8 years of software development experience in a product engineering environment; the posting also states 6–9 years of overall experience.
- Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, and design patterns.
- Proficiency in at least one of Java or Go.
- Experience designing and operating distributed, scalable services across high-level architecture and low-level implementation.
- Practical experience with cloud platforms, relational and non-relational databases, and Linux/Unix environments.
- Experience owning systems or product areas end to end from problem definition and design through launch, operations, and improvement.
- Experience providing technical leadership through work decomposition, delegation, mentoring, and design and code reviews; formal people management is not required.
- Ability to balance delivery speed with reliability, maintainability, and operational risk across concurrent workstreams.
- Ability to use agentic AI development tools and generative AI to improve engineering productivity while applying sound judgment on correctness, security, and quality.
- Supply chain, workforce management, fulfilment, or operations-tech experience is a plus.
