Base Salary
$164k - $246k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and document production-quality C++ features for simulation and developer tooling.
- Build and maintain software abstractions, simulated services, and client/server integrations that reproduce system behaviors in development environments.
- Improve developer workflows for environment setup, simulator startup, configuration, input handling, debugging, log collection, and failure recovery.
- Contribute to build, dependency, packaging, release, and CI/CD workflows for the simulation platform.
- Create unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and move high-value validation into continuous integration.
- Diagnose failures across process, library, container, and platform boundaries and deliver durable fixes.
- Maintain shared libraries and developer-facing interfaces, including versioning, compatibility, and migration guidance.
- Write architecture, setup, troubleshooting, and release documentation for developers.
- Partner with engineering, quality, product, and platform teams to coordinate integrations and deliver features.
- Participate in design and code reviews and improve engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of professional software-development experience with systems software, platform software, developer tools, infrastructure, or similar technical products.
- Strong modern C++ development skills and practical experience developing and debugging on Linux.
- Experience debugging multi-process, client/server, or platform-integrated software using logs, traces, debuggers, and reproducible test cases.
- Experience building automated tests and integrating them into CI/CD workflows.
- Working knowledge of build systems, dependency management, source control, and release practices for multi-repository codebases.
- Ability to take defined problems through technical design, implementation, validation, documentation, and rollout.
- Clear written and verbal communication for coordinating interfaces and diagnosing cross-team issues.
- Preferred experience includes simulation, emulation, hardware abstraction, service virtualization, containerized development, CMake, package-management tools, CI systems, collaborative source-control workflows, cross-platform build toolchains, IPC, client/server APIs, shared libraries, SDKs, complex platform software, developer tools, or resource-constrained environments.
- Working knowledge of Python, Rust, JavaScript, or TypeScript is a plus.
