Responsibilities
- Collaborate with systems and software engineering teams to define validation scope, test strategies, and requirements traceability.
- Develop test plans, procedures, cases, reports, and objective verification evidence.
- Design and execute functional, integration, system, regression, and validation tests.
- Establish laboratory environments and test benches, and configure and troubleshoot hardware/software test setups.
- Investigate, isolate, track, and verify corrective actions for defects.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks using Python, LabVIEW, TestStand, or equivalent tools.
- Validate communication interfaces and protocols using protocol analyzers, packet sniffers, serial analyzers, and diagnostic tools.
- Review requirements, architecture, and design documents; participate in design reviews and provide quality feedback.
- Present test plans, results, and quality metrics to stakeholders, technical leads, and architects.
- Maintain technical documentation and support compliance with railway standards, quality processes, and engineering procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, electronics, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
- 7–11 years of experience in software verification and validation.
- Experience in railway, locomotive, aerospace, automotive, industrial automation, or other safety-critical domains.
- Strong understanding of software development and software testing lifecycles, requirement-based testing, and traceability management.
- Experience with test design, verification, validation, safety-critical systems, UI testing, and system-level validation.
- Experience with Python, LabVIEW, NI TestStand, or similar scripting or programming tools for test automation.
- Experience with DOORS, IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management, HP ALM, Quality Center, or equivalent tools is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems and familiarity with continuous integration and automated test execution environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers.
